"Harris Tweed" means a tweed made from pure virgin wool produced in Scotland, spun, dyed and finished in the Outer Hebrides and hand-woven by the islanders at their own homes in the islands of Lewis, Harris, Uist, Barra and their several purtenances and all known as the Outer Hebrides. Today, every 50 metres of genuine Harris Tweed are checked by an inspector from the Harris Tweed Authority before being stamped, by hand, with the orb symbol. The Harris tweed used in Hoggs' headwear collection is a sturdy 18oz weight. Fleece-lined hats, Tweed caps to match jackets, waistcoats and breeks and Ladies' country hats to match the beautiful Isla and Mey tweed jackets and waistcoats. The Dee Ladies Velveteen Cap is an elegant addition to the range too. Waxed baseball caps, Waxed Bush Hats and the Waxed Indiana Hat are very popular.
